STAFF COUNCIL APPLICATION/NOMINATION FORM
The University of Iowa Staff Council seeks to fill 22 vacancies beginning April 1, 2009. All vacancies are for three-year terms.
Staff Council represents full and part-time permanent staff members who are not represented by an exclusive bargaining agent. The Council serves in an advisory capacity to central administration.
Those eligible for nomination shall be permanent employees of the University, either full time or part-time, who are classified as Professional and Scientific Staff, or Merit System Staff who are exempt from collective bargaining because of supervisory or confidential status. There isn't a "years of service" requirement to be on Staff Council. All are welcome, new staff as well as our most experienced staff.
Membership that fully represents the diversity of our staff is important. We welcome and encourage the representation of people with diverse backgrounds who contribute to the rich diversity at The University of Iowa. Minorities, people with disabilities and new staff are encouraged to complete a nomination form.
Meetings are held the second Wednesday afternoon of each month (except August) and last two hours. A central administration representative attends each meeting to keep Staff Council members informed of matters that concern University staff. Staff Councilors are expected to serve on one internal committee with an additional time commitment of approximately one hour per month.
Nominations must be made by completing the form below and pressing the “Submit Form” button at the bottom of the page by February 4, 2009.
